Scottish Field
December issue: All are Scottish words, terms or slang and also could also be regional Scottish terms or variations only used in specific geographical areas. Due to difficulty and often many variations of spelling, some of my adjoining letters might be in error.
5d. A noose (5) M????
8d. Trouser braces (8) ?A?????S
I have GALLUSES, but that means DABBITYS can't be right as it would leave 8d ending in SS (I initially had DABBITIE which would allow GALLUSES but it didn't seem right).
14a. Decree (3) A??
Could it be as simple as ACT ?
15a. Sulking (2-1-4) I? A ?U?C
Probably IN A ?U?C
16a. Stir or rake up (4) C??R
17a. Shelter (3) H??
Maybe something as simple as HUT ?
24d. A team to build cornstacks (4) S?T?
27d. Storm (4) F??N
28a. A person (3) E??
Thanks again all

18a. Small ornaments (8) D??B?T??
I initially thought dabbitys but 8d. Trouser braces being Galluses means 18a must be D??B?T?E.
Dabbitie just doesn't seen right as the clue suggest's a plural, and Galluses would be wrong if Dabbitys was used (the last letter of 18a gives the 7th letter of 8d).
