It says on the quiz sheet to not ask for help with the quiz on the internet.

Pulse, why do you feel the need to 'police' this site? Surely if you don't like a Question & Answer site and what it allows, then don't log in.

Davidmb, Reminder of the site guidelines to post the name of the quiz and the closing date when posting quiz questions.

Pulse, thanks for posting the quiz setters request.

Captain2 - it's not a question of whether I like Q&A sites or what they allow.  It's a question of the rules of the quiz.  If it says on a quiz to not ask for help on the internet then anyone ignoring that is effectively cheating.  Do I take it from your response that you approve of such cheating?

It can't be any worse than asking a friend or relative for help

Telling people not to post questions on AnswerBank is not in the spirit of AB, where all questions are welcome and should be encouraged.

barry1010 - you're totally missing the point.  The rules of the quiz say to not ask for help on the internet.  Anyone doing the quiz should abide by those rules otherwise they are cheating.  So I'll ask you the same as I asked as I asked Captain2.  If someone cheats by asking for help on this site do you approve of such cheating?

mallyh - it's clearly very different.  If you ask a friend or relative for help with a quiz does their answer get posted on the internet for all to see?

Yes, we all approve.

//So I'll ask you the "same as I asked as I asked" Captain2.

our answer is don't bother. This is a "question and answer question and answer" site.

ps, barry1010 is not missing the point.  You are.

TheWinner - I'm clearly not missing the point but you, as someone who doesn't do quizzes but just answers quiz questions on this site, obviously are.  If the rules of a quiz say to not ask for help on the internet then anyone deciding to ask for help is cheating because they’re choosing to break the rules of the quiz.  Can you explain why you think that’s a reasonable thing to do?  The fact that this site allows such questions to be asked is clearly not relevant in answering that question – it’s just a means by which someone can cheat.

Pulse you are no benefit to this site, you don't  abide by this site's rules and you are acting in a hypocritical manner. As the Ed has confirmed you may indicate this is a no-asking quiz, but you are not to get involved in criticising others. Personally I think it is about time that you were suspended and I hope that when the Ed returns he/she takes further action as you bring nothing good to this site. This is a question and answer site and only the rules of THIS site apply. Please keep to THIS site's rules.
