Many thanks, Captain2 and newmodarmy, for your excellent parsed answers! I am still a few clues away, but am in a quandary about entering the elements. For instance, according to the preamble, can one enter two letters in a square?
My example ( provided my answer is correct ):

57 Pinch a piece of waste aluminium (5)  STEAL

( S ) ( TE ) (AL )     Elements: Sulphur, Technetium, Aluminium
 

 

Yes, since there are fewer squares than letters in the answer.

Good morning, great parsing and answers! Elemental entries hold my interest as I seek responses for one of two remaining groups of clues. Thanks in advance!

Thanks,NACW and Cashier, could we verify 13 and 20, and answers for 43, 49? Now this is the last batch after which I’ll be on my own to complete the elements which I’m getting to know better and better.
