In the early hours of yesterday morning approx 02.40 i got up to loose the dog out..i sat in the dining room in the dark and was looking at some trees against the sky..when i noticed a strange object going backwards and forwards..it was rugby ball shape but was behind the clouds so it looked hazy...i went outside and fetched the dog in and listend to see if i could hear anything..like the police helicopter or an aeroplane ..but all was quiet..well i sat for over half an hour watching this object sometimes it would stop then spurt forward fast..it just kept going forward and back..in my vision it seemed to go as far as these large trees then come back again..it was quite a large shape ..and when it went fast it parted the clouds and you got a glimpse of stars..this isnt the first time i have seen a ufo but the first time here..so i woke mr m up and he came and looked ..he also went upstairs where the view was better and and he reckoned it could only be a ufo also..all this went on for over an hour then it dissapeared..i looked yesterday at some videos of ufo on the internet and some of them seemed to move in the same way...has anyone else ever seen anything ? or has anyone got any explanation? i suppose we shouldnt be so arrogant to think their is not life on another planet..we are here on our planet and its possible their is life elsewhere..why anyone would wish to visit the horridble area i live in i dont know...last time i saw one was in germany and that also hovered over the field at the rear of our house..and this time it was also over a field!! and i saw one as a child in cornwall ...this is the first time i have fetched someone to witness it as i dont think people believe you..but it was seen..

I have never seen anything but I would just love to see something like that! How fascinating; were you scared? Mr Sunflower is totally convinced there is life on other planets. You just never know.

If we have life on Earth, who is to say there is not life on other planets? I just hope that, if and when they do make themselves known, we are friendly towards them as this is now such a violent world.

YES - I certainly agree that there is no reason to doubt that there is life on other planets or that they are able to visit us. What I do find extremely hard to believe is that one person should witness three of these UFOs, after all the vast majority of the world`s population never even see one in a lifetime. On that basis, I would certainly dismiss this account.

victormeldrew...i too would doubt this and i never told anyone except mr m about the one i saw in germany as i dont think anyone would believe me...but this time mr m witnessed it..i dont think my camera would have captured it as its only a ordinary camera..and i dont have a video camera..i too am a doubting thomas and never believe anything unless i see it myself...in this case i am still trying to talk myself round that it could have been something else but what? thats why i posted here i thought someone may have seen something similar and had an explanation..as i open to any account of what it may have been..

dominoe..their is no need to be rude...i was a 7 year old child when i saw strange lights in the sky in cornwall..i didnt even possess a camera!! when i saw something in germany well we lived on the top story of a block of flats overlooking wheat fields..and i had the bedroom curtains open as i like looking at the sky and i saw a strange shape and lights ..and i was scared so i put the duvet over my head and went to sleep..and the next day i thought i had dreamt it..i dont mind people not believing me but i dont like being criticised for not having cameras etc..the other night was not a dream as it was witnessed...i am a truthfull person and i have tried to describe what i saw as best as i can..in the hope that someone else has also seen something..

How's dominoe being rude. It seems funny if this happened for over an hour that No-one could take a pic. Nearly everyone has a camera phone nowadays.

Not that I'm saying you didnt see it. But Dominoe has just put his opinion and I dont think he believes in aliens. I dont think I really do either. Would be fascinating to be proved otherwise. :-)

it may not have been aliens it may be a simple explanation...a camera photo? no way would mine have taken a picture of that distance..anyway i have decided to report it and see if someone else has seen something similar..to be honest taking a photo never even crossed my mind as it was dark and i was just fascinated watching it..

I never saw a UFO before, and don't think it's likely that other species are visiting us.
Alot of people say that the odds are massively in favour of there being life on other planets, which is true. But, what kind of life? There are Millions? of species on this planet alone, and only one that is capable of even venturing just beyond our own atmosphere (and returning). Life on other planets...Likely, intelegence on other planets... less likely. The could have been species capable of space travel millions of years ago, that have since died out, there might be in a million years time. It would be nice to think that there's an advanced species out there, and I'd like to live to see the day that man ventrues beyond our own solar system to find out whats there. But it's a long shot! (if there is such life, I hope it's friendly)

Hello mullein3 and all, I have a strange story about seeing lights flashing in the sky and looking like a very large object, unidentified but was it a flying object?

I called to my husband to come and see, and he looked and looked, and then told me that the nightclub some miles away in the town had large flood lights that are used to beam up into the sky and flash backwards and forwards.

This apparently is legal and it's used to get attention to new events

eg: when the Harry Potter film was premiering, 3 large flood lights were put on each gantry, and shone into the sky, it could be seen for miles and they did look like ufos.....

So thats my ufo story. I wanted them to be the real thing but it wasn't to be for me........

bondy....i knew it was going backwards as thats all it did go one way then back the same way...as for the lights at a night club that would be a good theory but it was monday morning at 02.40 approx and their are 5 fields at the back of me and thats where it was...mr m said it was above the clouds..and when it spurted forward you could see stars..he had a better look than me as he went upstairs to watch it..i dont know if i believe in little green men as i have never seen one and i didnt see much this time just a strange shape moving ..i am open to every observation and thought..i wish i did own a video camera but even if i did it would have to be a powerfull one as it was distant...and i do have a zoom on my camera but its not capable of taking pictures in the dark ,,mr m got up last night to see if it had returned it hadnt!! its just one of those mysterys you cant explain..if someone told this to me i would be sceptical as i hadnt seen it...at the end of the day it could just be something odd happening up above...

About 4 or 5 years ago my brother was doing an early morning delivery he was about 12 miles out of our home city on a bridge,when the van suddenly started spinning just going round and round every thing in the van just went up towards the roof just flew everywhere.The next thing he knew,his hip hurt and there was a figure 8 on his hip looked like little pin pricks,and he had lost two hours! No he hadn't had an accident,the van was untouched,and before anyone thinks it, no,he doesn't drink OR smoke anything>

asciwhite....the exact same thing happened to me (along with a few hundred others). One night there were lights flashing in the sky for ages in a pattern. The whole street was out thinking there were aliens coming!

Turned out to be a nightclub 15 miles away projecting lights! It even made the local press!

But isn't it a bit arrogant of us to think we're the only species in the universe?I don't believe EVERY ufo we see is from another planet though,i'd look a lot closer to home for that.
