I have a disc of black plastic with a hole in the middle and a shallow groove on either side spiralling toward the centre.
Is this a record?

I would say yes but don't expect to get in the Guiness book of records with it

It could be a frisbee with a hole drilled in it............(another one for the oldies)

What is the point of this Question, and insult for the Oldies, if you don't know what a record looks like which are still sold in good music stores, and if you have a disc you would know what was on the record and would state the speed etc, so grow up and ask for sensible answers,

Hi Bordeaux. I think the question was intended as a joke. Don't let him wind you up!! DISCount it!!

Have a glass of wine and relax, life is too short to get upset about trifles.

Bordeaux, lighten up... it was a joke disguised as a question! It was in fact a lighthearted comment based upon the fact that many of todays youth have no recollection of what we 40 somethings recall with great fondness! No need to be so touchy!

Incidentally, (just for Bordeaux) it's a 7" disc registered to someone named "45 rpm"and has "The Sweet" emblazoned on the inner label!
I believe it is addressed to someone named "Little Willy"!

The old jokes are still the best. I heard that one about 25 years ago.
Last Christmas a few of us went out for lunch and the two 50 somethings were chatting and the subject of a record came up - the office junior was quite flumoxed. she had no idea what we were talking about and our description did nothing to help her understanding!
