Sorry if this question seems a bit morbid, but I'm just curious to know what people,if they had the choice of 2 songs, would choose to be 'sent over to the other side' with.My 2 choices would be the obvious 'Time To Say Goodbye' by Andrea Bocelli + Sarah Brightman, and the not-so-obvious choice of 'Angel' by Chiara, the Maltese Eurovision entry of last year and a fine song to boot.I could imagine popular choices would be Angels by Robbie Williams,or You Raise Me Up by Westlife or Brian Kennedy, for example.

10 minutes before the worm - Alice Cooper
Ive got a lovely bunch of coconuts, and when it goes through the curtain, wish me luck as you wave me goodbye.
Mmmm, good question NEVCAR.There are absolutley loads of songs that I love, but some of them may be inappropriate for a funeral.I think I would go for a song called 'Song to the Siren' by This Mortal Coil.
Everythings gonna be alright - Sweetbox and Angel by Sarah McLaghlan.

i also want people to dress in bright happy clothes, no black , and to celebrate my life as opposed to mourning my death, you are all cordially invited lol.

Already got these listed with my will:

Don't Stop Me Now by Queen

Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life by Monty Python

great gig in the sky ....pink floyd

Hmm...depends whether I want people to cry or not.

If I were going for tears, I'd have Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye by Ella Fitzgerald and Daniel by Elton John.

If I were going to happy smiles, it would be Waterloo by Abba and Vogue by Madonna. And I would stipulate that everyone in the congregation would have to get up and 'Vogue'.

Pity I wouldn't be there to see it though...

Funeral: 'Can You Dig It?' - The Mock Turtles

Cremation: 'Disco Inferno' - The Trammps

rem everybody hurts and gloria gaynor i will survive

Loopyc, I went for that song too! I was joking the other week that I would like a song that made everybody sob and then the Locomotion or something, where everyone has to do the actions and wouldn't know what to do!

My nan had "Simply the Best" by Tina Turner last year and that was just plaiun weird.

Seriously though, I would let my hubby choose. I think he would make a good choice for me. Providing I go first of course......

Think i'd choose Everybody hurts by REM and Knockin on Heavens door by Guns n Roses
Defintatly My chemical romance- Helena (which the video is ironicaly a funeral) and (good suggestion stoo-pi) always look on the bright side of life (Maybe i've got a lovely bunch of coconuts like raysparks sed cos i'd like to make ppl laugh!!!

"Dig That Groove Baby" by the Toy Dolls for a burial - "Fire" by The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown for a cremation.

:-)

smile by west life

i like the part smile tho your heart is breaking, that would make me cry instead if played in a funeral tho

I've got long list that I regularly update and send to a friend"!!

Hurt - Johnny Cash versiom
For All we know - Joan Baez
Life is just a Travelling Circus - Andy White
Ticket to Ride - The Carpenters

Neil Young - Birds

The Flaming Lips - Do You Realize??

i would have to choose "Knocking On heavens Door" or "Dont Cry" or "Yesterdays" all by Guns N'Roses. they would fit the situation perfectly
Don't think I fancy the cremation route, but would like "I am the reserection" by The Stone Roses.

I've thought about this lately, and I think I too would go for Monty Python's "Always look on the bright side of life." Apparently it is a big favourite at funerals.

The other one I'd go for would probably be "Im a w****r" by Ivor Biggun and the RedNosed Burglars, just to get people laughing and encourage them to lighten up a bit and not take life so seriously! I can just imagine their faces as it played out (specially if it was in a church!)

NB, for those who don't know the second song it rhymes with AnswerBanker.
