What does it mean if someone feels they've been blown out? Does it mean that the person blown out has romantic feelings towards the other person?

I always took it mean they had been dropped as a friend and feel ignored and excluded.

You guys must use it differently from me. Amongst my friends it means that either someone hasn't shown up or someone who promised to do something no longer will ie "I was going to the pictures with John but he's blown me out."

There's no sense of being permanently dropped and certainly no romantic implications - but then, slang phrases don't always mean the same thing in every part of the world.

If you have been blown out then the other person has ended the relationship.

If the other person did not turn up for a date. ie. We arranged to go to the pictures but he/she never turned up...... you have been stood up.

I'm from the South and thought it originated in the romantic sense, but has been extended to when someone has basically let you down, more like maxi's definition.
