Strands#265 Did You Hear That?
Quizzes & Puzzles2 mins ago
I have sometimes posted on AB for answers to both MOS and Local Quiz crosswords. I thought I'd let you know that perseverance pays as this last week I saw my name in my local paper as the winner of a Collins/Bradford Crossword Solver Dictionary.
It hasn't arrived yet but, at least I won so, after years of MOS attempts without success, you never know!
I do know that the odds of winning in the local Xwords are better but I'll carry on regardless.
Regards,
Mo
No best answer has yet been selected by Roger & Mo. Once a best answer has been selected, it will be shown here.
For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.SpellingBee,crofter and beerbelly and lots more familiar names who regularly contribute, it's all down to people like you.
It's only a bit of fun and if we win along the way then it adds to the compulsion to do it.
This site is easy to use and always provides a suggestion. If it's used correctly it works fine.
I always see how much of the Xword I can do myself then go onto AB, scroll down to see any questions which have been posed for the particular Xword I'm doing then, if I don't see what I want I ask a question, simple!
I swear that you lot sit with your fingers poised on the keyboards in anticipation as you are all so quick.

Hi geo0939,
It's just the Mo bit as Roger just keys in what I tell him to as his writing is atrocious so he's not allowed to fill them in! That's another tip, always make a copy from the original and make sure there is no Tippex or mistakes. I was once in the newspaper offices where the judging takes place and they told me that a large percentage of entries are eliminated if not absolutely perfect, so if you cross out on one then save the cost of the stamp.
