Does anyone know Doctor Who's first name please. I have tried Google but cannot find it.

you got me thinking about that! tried google & everything, the only one that gave near enough an answer was

and they just refer him as doctor WHO?
maybe thats why?

I don't think he has a first name, although I recall in one of the Jon Pertwee episodes he said his name was John Smith. Nobody even calls him "Doctor Who" in the episodes, it's always "Doctor", although for some reason Sylvester McCoy was called "Professor" by his companion. In a sense he's like Colombo, Quincy and McGyver - people without first names, although if they do have first names I've never heard them.

I am old enough it have watched the first episode as a 12 year old the whole point surely is that he didn't give his name just "Doctor" The "who" isn't his name it 's to indicate no-one knows it. I too will check on monday to see if ermnitrude 35 has an actual name.

...as promised here I am reporting back...the font of all Dr. Who knowlage has spoken... " when John Pertwee first regenerated into the Dr he did call himself Dr John Smith for a while, this is not his real name , but a name he used on earth " ...sorry to dissapoint but he states that in no episode has his real name ever been revealed....
