I guess theatre just isnt my thing cos I have really struggled
During a game take a rest with it

all for a nice sum of change
its an odd job when no diagram has a chromosome

I wouldn't worry about struggling with these clues, smouse, they're all a bit...clunky.

Confused on a couple
during a game take a rest with it - I had interval but then travel in motion which is another clue is also interval so didnt think there would be two the same
I didnt understand pantomime for the items of mine etc and I do have panto for look for gold with only half a tool
Sarumite and anyone else including me who is baffled by lack of numbers I still need

I think " During a game take a rest with it " may possibly be BREAK, i.e. as in Snooker, when a rest is often used during a break.

dr john I understand "clunky" in this context!
1 could be "Half Time". I completely missed the "mine" for "mime". I wonder if the answer to my earlier clue has been misspelt as "musicean"?

Once you have doubts at this level, you lose confidence in the setter! Anyone can SET a quiz - only a few can set a GOOD quiz!

I thoroughly agree with Dr John's and Crofter's sentiments. There have been some truly appalling quizzes on this site over the Christmas / New Year period. I'm going to start a new thread and ask you all which are the GOOD quizzes.
