In mathematical jargon, these are called Permutations. Thus 12 P 3 = 12.11.10 = 1320 (the number of ordered triples from 12 objects).
The sequence given is 12 P 0 = 1, 12 P 1 = 12, 12 P 2 = 132, 12 P 3 = 1320. Hence the next in the sequence is given by 12 P 4 = 11880.
