Just to let anybody know, if they've not already checked .. the March generalist has been available on-line since last evening. I have made a good start but stuck on two at present, will continue to try to dig-out these two answers, but not getting close to them at present and may need to look for assistance in due course! ;0)
thanks sarumite, of course I didn't say am or pm so we could keep on missing each other !!
I've got the first word of 6d but not sure about the second and could you explain 27d - I know what a puffin is and I know where it is but I don't think that's what it means so any help would be much appreciated Steff
ok , got him - why do the Scots have to have another word for everything ??? I need an English/Scottish dictionary.
The only one left is 7a, which is probably dead simple, but I can't think and google doesn't want to help, so when you drop by next, a clue or the answer, I don't mind which, would be great thanks so much, Steff
well that didn't take long and I must admit didn't surprise me, thought it would be something unusual - trust the Court system to come up with something odd.
that's me finished for this month - now what am I going to do with myself - I need another puzzle.
thank you both for the assistance, I'll see you over the weekend bye, Steff
Steff, What's happening .. I go away for half an hour and get gazumped ! I see that you're now finished, and like me, out of a decent puzzle to work on.
Never mind it'll soon be the World Cup in the West Indies .. and I promise you that I'm not gloating over recent results (as much as I'd like to!) .. reckon Oz are still favourites to win, although it would be good for the game if the Windies could win on home territory!
Cheers (S) ☺☺
Hi Jools . . I've just logged on again, that was good timing!
The answer to 14a is the name of Great Britain in George Orwell's futuristic novel Nineteen Eighty-Four (1984).
