25a: 1st Earl -- --; prominent British Field Marshall in ww 2. 6,9
I have Harold Alexander - the only FM raised to an Earldom that I could think of, but surely he should have been shown as Earl -- -- -- (9,2,5) for Alexander of Tunis? My answer leaves me with 21d (horn shaped projection of the thyroid cartilage and 22d: small bouquet as unknowns. Can someone put me right, please?

2 other WWI Field Marshals who were given Earldoms:
FM Sir John French >>1st Earl of Ypres
& FM Sir Douglas Haig >> 1st Earl Haig
I dare say there were others, but those 2 immediately spring to mind.
