Here is another way to get the fractions � � � .
If you go to 'Start ' then 'All programmes' then 'accessories' , then 'System Tools ' there should be 'Character Map' . Here there are about 100 different fonts , windings etc. Select the one(s) that you want , then copy then click with the mouse where you want the symbol to appear , then right click and select 'paste'

Bridgenut, I sincerely hope you haven't spent all this time looking for a more comprehensive answer to my earlier question. I am truly grateful.
& thank you too Johnalex - I have some of these codes stuck on bits of sticky paper round the edge of my screen - now I can peel them all off and leave nice white marks!
