Whih rock & roll singer was killed in a driving accident on New Year's Eve in 1960. Any help would be appreciated.

Eddie Cochran died in April 1960; he died in a traffic accident, but he wasn't driving (it was a taxi).

First on the scene was police cadet Dave Harmon with others - he went on to become Dave Dee of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch who were big throughout the sixties.

Legend has it that Dave was a police contsbale who was at the scene when the crash happened - the truth is, he was still a cadet, and arrived after the impact.

But sadly I'm nowhere near knowing who actually died. Eddie Cochrane, as mushroom suggested, died on the 17th April 1960. I haven't been able as yet to get an answer myself either yet.

Johnny Horton died in 1960 but i think it was November

Nothing on Wikipedia for that date and http://thedeadrockstarsclub.com/1960.html has thrown up a blank as well. The nearest they have is this:

Thank you all for trying to get this answer. It's soooo frustrating! The quiz is a local Lincolnshire Primary School one. It'll be very interesting to see what answer the quiz setter comes up with when the answers are published at the end of the month.

I will,leylander. I shall be away at the end of the month for a week, but will check the answers when they are posted and will try to remember to put the answer on the answer bank. It's so infuriating that this seems to be such an elusive answer.
