I need some advice about my allotment plot here in the uk I have had the plot since 2005 and and it was in a terrible state - well its still in a terrible state yesterday I was there from 9am to 5pm just pulling weeds and strimming, mostly nettles I know that if I don't keep on top of it it will go back to what it was and then worst. I have managed to grow some potatoes this year which were no problem. What can I do next? Can anyone give me any tips on how to make this allotment experience more enjoyable and what sort of ground cover I'm looking for to stop these weeds from taking over once more Thank you

Then, every time you see weed seedlings pull them out. The crucial thing is little and often. Remember the old adage "One year's seeding, seven years weeding"! There's no point putting ground cover on an allotment or you won't have room for the veg which is the whole point.
