Rude tin

I have it on good authority that Huntley & Palmer, biscuit purveyors, once had a disgruntled biscuit-tin artist who, for reasons known only to him/her, painted the fabled 'rude tin', complete with sh*gging dogs and copulating pixies. Is this true, or another disappointing urban myth?

No it is true - and the tins are now collectors' items, haviung been withdrawn when the 'extras' were discovered. It was in the Daily Mail a day or so ago - details may be on their website, but it is a definite article. Apparently the artist involved was dismissed and did a little judicial 'editing' while working his notice.

did i get it right that they dismissed him but made him work his notice? they deserved everything they got (H+P). If anyone gets dismissed here they have 15 minutes to clear their desk and management stand and watch them.

I have one of these tins. My brother-in-law was food buyer for a big department store at the time they were withdrawn and bought several as Christmas presents for the whole family. There are two for sale on ebay.co.uk - search for biscuit tins
