Section 13 (Maths & Logic) what carcan go backwards as well as forwards? In cricket, if each batsman is clean bowled by successive balls, from the first ball bowled, which number batsman would be not out?
Section 15 (Literature) what made the oompa loompas tiddly? in which book did humpty dumpty first appear?
section 16 (History) in Nazi Germany the average industrial worker's pay stayed the same from 1929 to 1938 but the price of all basic groceries increased with on exception. What was the exception?
section 17(numbers) 3M and a BSTS
section 19 (Geography ) what has Portishead, Brecon Beacons, Maine USA and NewSouth Wales Australia got in common? Th coeastline of which body of water was known historically as the Spanish Maine?
section 20 (sport) who in 2006 was Britain's most successful athlete wining two top events in her field, cycling?
and finally, does anyone know the last bit of the rugby question - what would be the total points each team scored?
My logic for the cricket question is that batsmen 1&2 go to the crease - No 1 facing the bowling and No 2 at the other end.
Batsmen No 1 is bowled first ball as are batsmen 3- 7. At the end of the over batsman No 2 who has not faced a ball is not out .
Tee hee no problem Vicmarion. This quiz is enough to fuddle anyone's brain (in a good way!) Thanks Kayakamina for confirming the cricket is as the others suggested - I have NO clue about the game I'm afraid.
I would've given up on this quiz if it wasn't for you all today!
help please section 7, 13 mean pain chill, anagram sports star, section 11 , 3 middle word, big ----- stop, section 15, 9 what did willy wonka look like? section 18,15 name jonathan ross's dog, also youngone please check rugby score i have 84-69 = 153, cheers sniffa.
sniffa I've assumed the anagram is a mistake, as I can't find anything to fit it. I have END for the big - stop middle word. I have just put down the description of Willy Wonka from the book: A little man with a black top hat, tail coat of plum colored velvet, bottle green trousers, pearly grey gloves and a gold topped walking cane (but I'm not sure that's what's wanted)
Jonathan Ross has referrred to a number of dogs on his TV show over the years but the only one I remember is Mr Pickle (he's the bulldog-ish one) He has got a new puppy but I can't remember what he called it!
