MM Links October [Week 2]
Good morning to you, my loyal subjects. This is King Grenmus the Great here again to tease you yet again on the general subject of "Sports", although my preambles may not deal specifically with the sport at all. However, this week, I may leave a clue or two!
Helen, our daughter, came down from Newcastle last week to stay for a few days. She sat with Vi when I went to the football matches, but also when I had a cultural day out in Liverpool. Rodin's 'The Kiss' was being displayed at the Tate, so I decided to go down to see it and look at some of the museums too. I took the train to Central Station and, as it was a beautiful day, I pottered about with hands in pockets and had a gentle stroll down to the Albert Dock. A magnificent building thankfully saved from demolition!
The Kiss was in the foyer of the Tate and looked wonderful. They have a major exhibition of Twentieth Century Art ongoing. I was lucky to arrive just as a guided tour was about to start, so was taken round the Figuration Art floor. There was Degas' Ballet Dancer, Picasso's Weeping Woman and Warhol's Chairman Mao amongst the many exhibits. The guide was very good and I looked at some of the works with a new understanding.
Before I went to view the next floor it was time for lunch. The restaurant served a chicken, goat's cheese and Greek salad, which I followed with a lemon tart. Delicious!!
