angel i think you can get it done with parental consent.ive seen 14 yeear old kids here with piercings and tatoos too.almost matched their mothers.god help us the chavs are coming.
There is no legal age for body piercings, so you can't report it to the police or social services - and in my opinion to do so would be very wrong.

I dislike body piercings but wouldn't call it disgusting.
It is so common nowadays as to be on a par with ear piercings.

I think that if your ex wife didn't take her to a reputable salon, your daughter would probably have it done behind both parents' backs - it is the way of children.

My guess is she will soon get fed up of the care a belly piercing needs and it will grow out - it is not the same as ear piercings where the holes or there for life.

You need to calm down and be a bit more reserved about this - otherwise your daughter will not appreciate you criticising her or her friends.
Luckyman (a hint of irony there) I'm with you all the way here. My 15 year old niece got a tattoo, if that'd been my child I'd be bouncing.
But by complaining vociferously (Ethel and Angel) are right you'll create an awful lot of heat and very little light.
The best solution is to show infctions when they've gone wrong (she'll dismiss that as it won't happen to her, because it never does etc.) one thing you could do is remind that if she has children one day that piercing will turn into one almighty stretch mark right across her tummy! If your ex wife has got stretch marks then ask her to show them to her if that does'nt do it nothing will.
Are you sure she hasn't had it done already, had a right earful from mum and they are just covering up for her - making it alright with dad, sort of thing?
angel12, I live in Stoke and know plenty of people under 16 with belly button piercings (amongst other things). I don't know whether they lied about their age or what but they definately have them and one of them is only 12!!
I don`t think that parents have the right to get their children pierced. You see all ages with piercings nowadays from babies upwards. A child might say they want one, but regret it when they`re older. Too late then
My daughter had hers done at 14 -I signed the consent form as I knew she would just go ahead and at least this was a decent place.
She is now 19 -has never been an issue at all -lets face it -worse things happen at sea.
She also got her first tattoo at 15 -again we were with her -its beautiful and has only had one other done since -so all in all she hasnt gone off the beaten track in fact had we put our foot down she would have been worse.

And no she isnt a chav in fact she is as far from a chav as you could get -she just is unique and knows her own mind and looks fabulous -well I would say that -wouldnt I?

Dont over react at this type of thing -its mild compared with what you will have coming to you -lol
I'm with luckyman, I'd be furious!

I'd be thinking along the lines of not only having the piercing itself done, but she'll be wanting to wear clothes that show it off, ie cropped tops. I'm probably being very old fashioned here but I wouldn't allow my daughter out in public with her belly on show everywhere at only 12 years old.

Quite what the OP can do I dunno, it's a fine line between letting your daughter know that it's against your wishes and alienating her.

Good luck luckyman- you'll need it.
