I bought a flat last year, but the majority I looked at in my price range only had bedrooms that would fit a single bed. Ended up buying shared ownership and have two double bedrooms. Good news is, though, that the bottom has fallen out of the buy-to-let market so the rent on flats in cities should fall this year with the surplus of properties on the market. Bad news for homeowners like myself, but for renters it means you should get a bigger place for your money.
