Thanks \Novalis, my other half had spelt 2 down stampeed!!!! which foxed me.

How about 4 down?same puzzle A type of stabilizing fin located underneath the rear of a surfboard 4 letters, - k - g ?
I've put Dale, although Vale has been argued by others.
4d is Skeg.
