Anglo/Roman Catholic?

I newish friend of mine has told me today that she is an "Anglo Catholic" as opposed to a Roman Catholic. Now pardon me if I'm wrong but a Catholic is a Catholic and Roman at that. On furthur investigation, she believes that the Anglo Catholic is basically the same but you can have sex outside marriage, children outside marriage and use contraception. I didn't think you had to be of the 'Anglo' strain to do that in the modern world!! It is not a real concept I take it....rather a made up rule breaking convenient excuse? Or is it like Reformed/Orthodox in the Jewish religion?
