Book for kids

Does anyone remember a book for kids that encouraged them to write off for toys and games. Some items you could send off for were free, others had a small charge. I had this back in the 80's, but I can't remember the name of it, and would like to know if they still make books like this

That was "Free Stuff For Kids". I don't think they still publish it, which is a shame.

I used to get that every six months! I'd forgotten all about it. I remember being quite annoyed quite regularly because most of the things in there weren't actually free, they either 'cost money' or were on approval. Seeing as my pocket money was way beneath meagre it caused me quite some grief. But, if anyone from f'free stuff for kids' is listening, a complimentary copy of 'free stuff for twenty-somthings' would dampen the flames of my long considered revenge...

I remember having it from a school mail-order catalogue when I was 6 or so (i.e. about 1994). I found a really old one in a jumble sale at school a few years ago and was really thrilled, because I thought they'd stopped making them. I've never seen them since, in school book catalogues or anywhere else, so I think the've disappeared into the void of my memory...*sniff* Flytterbye

there is actually a website called freestuffforstudents.com or studentfreestuff.com. one or both of those. not the same as the "free stuff for kids" book that I used to have as a child. good luck. im sure you could find similar sites that are child related.

Kids popular books can be hard to narrow down on as each one has their own preferences. Therefore, to each its own.
However, I'll talk here from two perspectives -
My niece - My niece is loves everything science and fun. As strange as it may sound, she is a big nerd for a 9-year-old. She loves to read about the latest discoveries and trends. That's why her favourite book is actually a magazine that is National Geographic Kids Magazine. She is also inclined to mythology and history. On her last birthday, I gave her the Ultimate Collection from Amar Chitra Katha (https://www.amarchitrakatha.com/in) and she seemed to be the happiest to receive it.
My childhood - I loved reading comics as a kid. Therefore, I loved Tinkle the most. From Suppandi to Shikari Shambu and Angad to Kalia the crow. I loved them all. I had the oldest issues of Tinkle until the Mumbai floods. Tinkle is the best book to help kids get habituated to reading. Because Tinkle is where learning meets fun.
