I would very much like a pet pig. I do not know a whole lot about them, so this would not be happening in the very near future. Still, before I get too excited, I am wondering if this is an awful idea. Any insight or information would be greatly appreciated :D.

Awww!!!!! Apparently pigs can make lovely pets. They're very intelligent, and I love the pot-bellied piglets - so sweet!
I'm sure someone'll be able to advise you further, but remember, pigs need a fair bit of land to "root" in. x
Pigs are social animals, which are only really happy in herds (or, at least, small groups). It's rather cruel to keep them singly.

Pigs kept as pets are subject to many of the the same regulations as farmyard pigs are. You have to register with Defra and every movement off the premises (e.g. to see a vet) requires a licence. See here:

A pot-bellied pig needs plenty of space (preferably with an inexhaustible supply of mud, especially in hot weather, to enable it to stay cool). They can live for up to 30 years, so getting one as a pet is almost a lifelong commitment. See also here:

I want one!!!

Stop it noknow!!!! : )
Pigs are not suitable as domestic pets in an urban setting. Why not 'adopt' one in a local farm where you can visit and care for it in a more suitable environment.
Perhaps elemenope lives out in the countryside anyway. I think it'd be great to have a pet pig! x
