can anyone tell me why Irish people sometimes call their children allana, queen, or chavvie thank you just wondered what the words mean.? cheers

allana is "O child"

chavvie is from Chavi (romany) Child

Queen is probably self explanatory
I have heard these names used in Scotland and
NORTHERN IRELAND but never by Irish people
in the Republic of Ireland
