MM Links Solutions May 2009 [Week 1]

Crofter is away from the croft this evening so he has emailed his report to me for posting. The following is what he sent:-

The first week in the reign of Her Serene Highness Stephanie went according to plan ~ in spite of the distance to be covered and the time differences between the UK and Australia. I was surprised that Steff had "butterflies" before the launch, since she has been embroiled in Links games for over two years. It just goes to show that it is dangerous to make assumptions! Her enchanting theme of "The Australian Bush" led to the following chosen links:

DUCK Down
Under DONE
Gum SHIELD
Tree SURGEON

As is usual for a first week, entrants had to work hard for their points.

I was mesmerised by the preamble ~ so much so, that I considered emigrating! However, when reality kicked in, the first to fall was TREE SURGEON which was predicted by ulysses100 ~ closely followed by lysander & tearinghair: each claiming TWO POINTS. At 09.02, a tentative Dustybun was prepared to DUCK DOWN and will be surprised to learn that she has picked up yet another TWO POINTS.

Shortly afterwards, centrino claimed to be UNDER DONE and the game was starting to be split apart. Next was Eiggam with One Point for a late �Duck Down� before paulineward entered the contest wearing a GUM SHIELD for protection

Thereafter, Single Points were picked up by devadiva, Aquagility, mirandasmum & freebi 2 before a couple of double hitters in the form of Elspeth & Magyar entered the fray as Entrants #39 & #40 to pick up Two Points each. In these circumstances, I tend to be more impressed by double hits and so I must declare that Elspeth & Magyar are JOINT HOT SHOTS OF THE WEEK
