I have the TV programme and second town. But the programme had lots of catchphrases and I can't locate the relevant one. Clue, please.

Don't Panic (dodgy or "near". Tastefully preserved and neat, it could)

Many thanks, Donnart. I rarely watch TV, so enjoyed the research for this one.
To quote a catchphrase from a different television programme: "I don't believe it!" How can anyone ask for an answer at such an early stage in the competition?

Dear Over 18
I did not ask for the answer; I asked for a clue. Nobody had to give either clue or answer. You sound like a rather sad person. Have a nice day. ;-)
I agree with you, cesdlv.
Why do people (over18 isn't the only one) trawl through AB just to admonish someone for asking for help? Like you, I have other things to do but enjoy the Sunday morning time doing the quiz..
By the way, Donnart, thank you for your help.
Welcome, Donnart - I see that you are new to AB. You can tell that giving direct answers to "Where Was I?" does cause a bit of a stir, particularly so early on. I suppose that there is a bit of an informal convention amongst ABers that clues are given to assist in this particular competition, rather than just posting the answers. Of course you are not bound by this convention, you are free to ask or answer anything you wish. I hope you don't mind me mentioning it - and welcome, again.
cesdlv asked for help (admittedly, not for the answer) at 09.09. Donnart had presumably solved the puzzle before 09.29. As the catchphrase is actually on the face of clue/article then it clearly could be easily solved, without the need to trawl through maps/search engines etc. I have said before that I do not give answers to this competition, but will happily give pointers. However, I doubt that I would have done that so early in the day. Etch posted his/her complete solution on at least one other website at 04.26 today (rather later than usual!) and as of this minute it has been viewed 298 times.

I enjoy the mental exercise of this comp, and of learning about different parts of the island. Hence I have never asked for help with it.
Personally I think the WWI? competition should consist of answering ALL the clues (which I what I like to do anyway) so then handing out or helping with the odd one would be no worse than helping the crossword puzzlers. For example:

What is the first town?
Who was the author born 1737
Who were Timothy and Maurice?
Which monastery did I explore?
Who was the victorious earl?
Who was the king's illegitimate son?
etc

I agree with pretty well all the points made, even, to a degree, with over18. My plea is to recognise that we all use answerbank for different reasons. I prefer to be given a nudge rather than the answer. Others want the answer to send off for the prize. Since it is not compulsory to answer directly or otherwise, surely we can live with difference?
Etch, I agree, but how does this correlate with your posts on that other website?
