I've got the regular Autumn invasion of spiders and have tried everything in the book to get rid of them! Has anyone tried an ultrasonic spider repeller? I've found one here: http://www.primrose-london.co.uk/advanced-spider-repeller-whole-house-p-1277.html has anyone tried this one?

Olivia - I use this - just spray round where you think they might come in i.e. doorways, gaps in skirting boards, floorboards and don't forget gaps where the radiator pipes come up from the floor - I saw one poke its heard through the other day in my study as I was on the computer - sent Mr. Den to B & Q next day to get some gap fillers.

This Spider Stop does work.

Good Luck
Awww leave them alone!

They'll get those 'orrible bluebottle flies still buzzing around kami-kazi styly
Don't spiders only come into a clean house or is that a myth. We have huge cobwebs hanging outside our porch and the conifers are full of them. Clean garden dirty house lol
Ultra-sonic devices are a total scam. it's just rubbish don't waste your money.

If they worked people like Rent-a-kill would use them and they dont.

I particularly like the ones that claim to deter mice but not affect pets. - There's a reason they don't affect pets!
I just leave them alone unless they're trying to weave a cobweb around the passive ray which activates our burglar alarm system, as if it's very sensitive, a spider walking across it, can trigger the alarm, as I once found out. They're perfectly harmless. Now if you had cockroaches, that would be a different matter altogether.
HI PLACE SOME CONKERS IN CORNER OF YOUR ROOM WHERE YOUR SPIDERS ARE AND THEY WILL GO AND YOU WILL HAVE NO MORE PROBLEMS
I don't kill spiders unless I have no option - especially the very large ones, even though I hate them. If I see one running across the floor I get an upturned glass over it (keep itslegs in - not your's, it's) and slowly put stiff card underneath. It will walk onto the card and I thrown them out into the garden. I expect they break their necks when I throw them out of the bedroom window though. I use a fly spray in holey corners or under the bed (before you leave the room for a while, try not to breathe it in) helps although that probably kills them, so forget what I said in the first place ...
best thing e have found is small insect repellent and killer available at wilkos for about £2

ironically just ben talking to mum about it as she has run out and asked me where it came from.
my dad used to work for hotels and thats what they use
cover spider with handkerchief or tea towel, scoop up and shake outside.

Shout "KEEP OUT" and it wont return.
lol tamborine - i actually do that - except for the covering it picking it up and throwing it out bit
I have the perfevt solution - my dog jumps on them and my cat eats the bodies. You can borrow them if you want..;)
I bought a spider catcher from Lakeland plastics, it is a tube with a motor (battery) on the end that sucks up the spiders then you just put them outside
The thought of going anywhere near a 'large' spider fills me with dread - I could no way put a glass over it or catch it in a tea towel - just reading that sent shivers up my spine.................
me too den.......my dog boinks them for me.....he has very big paws for such a little dog....
but does your dog then throw them outside Craft? ha ha ha
actually no......he just stands there......really proud.....and waits for a treat...

Dancairo - NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo - no never never never never - if you have a spider phobia you will never get within a few feet of them let alone let them dangle on loo roll.
The girls in my office knew I had a phobia about spiders and one day, while I was at lunch, they loaded a spider screensaver onto my PC........they later found my projectile vomiting very impressive.....
