Welcome to the Final Week in the reign of Regal Roslyn.

As our involvement in swimming decreased, we developed more and more interest in our home and garden. Attending swimming training camps, league galas and committee meetings gave way to small landscaping projects, boarding lofts and laying laminate flooring! We had always been ones to do our own painting, wallpapering etc. and gradually this became almost an obsession, maintaining our home in pristine condition. Likewise in the garden, our hanging baskets, borders and tubs became the talk of the neighbourhood and many a visitor failed to find a single weed in the manicured lawn

In the last couple of years, our children have (finally!) flown the nest and become property owners themselves, so you would think that this would mean more time to ourselves for leisure and to follow our hobbies. But, of course, No! Suddenly there were three houses to maintain. Abi’s house has been completely transformed with every room being fully decorated over the last eighteen months. Jonathan has a brand new flat, so not much maintenance required there yet, but it will only be a matter of time before he wants some decorating and DIY done too!

One of my more recent passions is Sudoku and its many variations. In the very early days of Sudoku puzzles in 2006, I took part in a Sudoku Championship in London organised by no less than MM himself. I didn’t reach the top ten, but it was an enjoyable day there with lots of freebies. Perhaps some of you ABs were there too? For the past few years I have concentrated mainly on Killer Sudoku and particularly enjoy the “Deadly” variety in the Times on Saturdays and am currently working my way through the Times “Ultimate Killer” book. I eagerly await publication of Times Book 6; Killer Sudoku in April.

Any other spare time I have left, I enjoy home baking and my chocolate fudge cakes and millionaire shortbread squares have become very popular at Home Tennis and Badminton matches! They are also much in demand for John, Abi and Jonathan to take to work for Birthdays and at Christmas for many school and office parties.

It’s now time to get down to the business! As far as my MM Links are concerned, needless to say, I shall follow the rule on word length adopted by crofter. Each of my chosen link words contains at least four letters and at most eight. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one of your attempts! Each of my selected words may go in front of or after my challenge word. The competition will officially close at 7.00pm on Sunday evening when crofter shall disclose my selected words, then apply the same rules for awarding points that have been applied during all MM Link Games in the past.
My final set of four words to have their links predicted will appear below at 9.00am
