In her Ladyships absence, may I welcome you all to the club. Tailcocks and nibbles are on the hall buffet table, help yourselves. I may have to leave you occasionally as am babysitting two elderly maiden aunts.
There will be a talk later in the upper lower galleried ballroom on the topic of "Thermal Corsetry" very apt in these chilly days.
If enough people arrive we may have a raffle, will check lost prop for suitable prizes.( I have found a book of raffle tickets and they are all number blue) colours to be drawn later.
Excellent, I'm at the door now - is anyone else still there, I see Miss Meg on the verge of leaving, meg do you want some spuds to warm your cockles? That full moon is indeed shiny tonight.
Hi Mamya, please take a good portion. The cheese is top notch, they have just opened a new Morrisons round the corner, never seen anything like it before. Is that PC Protocol flashing in the garden? I can see blue lights!
I think I'll go now, apologies for the very short visit but this nice young man in a helmet says he'll see me home again. I think the fact that I have a whiff of burnt kitchen about me is unnerving him - I may have to convalesce for a couple of weeks. Seems quiet in the club tonight, I guess the speaker never made it/, probably sneaked off after all the carry on about the raffle... Goodnite to you all, safe home for those of you left. Thanks for hosting, mamya!
