My dear friend has just had a heart attack, she has come through it pretty well but has been told she has two blocked artery's, she is having treatment for it, What is the normal proceedure now? will she have to have surgery or ?
She seems quite bright.
This will depend upon many factors, age , other medical conditions and where the arteries are blocked.
3 considerations.
1) Medical treatment alone.
2) Insertion of stents
3) Vein byepass proceedure.
Medical treatment alone, I would have thought unlikely in this era.
Stents inserted...very popular, no invasive and quick results...overnight stay at most.
Vein graft from the leg to bypass blocked artery, very successful.
I cannot be more specific than that with the information given.
Thanks Sqad,
I do believe 'stents' have been mentioned but no decision has been made yet I think they're waiting until she gains more strength, she is 76 and has just fought off a nasty bout of pneumonia. Also she's been a diabetic for 20 years but has that pretty much under control.
I'm awaiting more news,
her hubby keeps me informed but using the pc isn't one of his fav things to do. I'm hoping to hear in the next couple of days they are in Oz you see.
