The Club is now open.

At the latest Committee meeting, it was decided that, in view of the recent good weather, volunteers would be asked to do the needful.
So far the results have been quite encouraging.

The Lost Property cupboard has been turned out and the contents used for dusters, so any members having lost any items are asked to look for them in the kitchen cupboards. There is a sewing machine in the upper left-hand attic if anyone wishes to effect repairs.

Smashing ttfn, how many tailcocks and wincairns have you had? Don't let mi'lady hear you criticising her choice of purveyors, she could double your subscription.

Hello and welcome, askyourgran.

Sorry to hear that you have been tied up. Glad that you have escaped. Give supersuezy a shout and I'm sure she'll attend to your every need.

There's no need to be sniffy about Lidl, ttfn. Lidl pikes are just as good as Any others
No matter mamya - I will have a baby beetroot thank you and save miss meg from further troubles
askyourgran I also am Knocking on, Suezy welcome to the club but dont sign anything!!
I couldn't get a whole pike but we had pikelets with our tea the other night.
Coming up, have made it super size in the ice bucket, want a straw with it, don't want you dribbling again.
Question Author
Do people eat beetroot through a straw ?
I'd like to see that.
I love beetroot - eat it 3 or 4 times a week. The other days I am stuck in the bathroom.
I don't think I'm gonna be good at this job..I don't even know what a tailcock is..
Lady Alex and friends, all this talk about food and nibbles makes me realise how good the real english table can be, after suffering 'continental fayre' for some long while I am truly glad to be back home to my cottage in Hassop. I am looking forward to a hearty Old English Potage supper tomorrow, but I must retire to my room soon, it's been a long couple of days travelling.
I will have a couple of those little pikes and some beetroot please I already have the bread and butter for the sandwich(found it in the moat and put it on the Aga to dry out
Question Author
Pickled or straight ?
Well I certainly intend to get pickled - and my natural curves prevent me from being described as straight. Suezy a tailcock is like a shakehand
Mi'lady, if you thought his ludship and Uncle Joe were enjoying a quiet game of chess this evening prepare to be alarmed.
His ludship is directing traffic and UJ is climbing the flagpole....
And a shakehand is? I'm feeling very stupid..
Whats with that crinkly stuff, how do they grow it like that, as ttfn has said the best are the baby beets. Had a lovely Borscht the other day, but knew about it after.☺
suezy, stick around long enough and you will soon get the hang of it or go really mad like the rest of us. Any more of that haggis left Matron and a very large tailcock please
Question Author
Supersuezy, you wil soon shape up. We have inservice training. Mamya and alexanderd will show you the ropes.....and I think Miss Meg is also on the payroll.....it was some time ago, but I'm pretty sure she owes me some backpay for dishwashing.
