The Club is now open.

The Committee reminds all members that the summer fete is fast approaching.

As this is usually accompanied by a break in the weather, members are advised to stock up on rainmates , mackintoshes, welly boots and gamps.

Donations of bric-a-brac, cake and candy etc may be left in the upper lesser drawing room for sorting by the members of the fete sub-committee.
Applications for membership of the fete sub-committee are currently being vetted.

Please give generously. This year's profits will be going to the house...errr.... club rooms restoration fund, a worthy cause as we will all agree. (And that damp patch on the bathroom floor is not going to go away on its own.)

bon soir ma petite.
Good evening Milady is it that time of year already, I shall start to knit my variation on the crinoline lady loo roll cover, they are always well received.

Have made up the usual vat of tailcocks and there are nibbles a plenty. Have a few gamps remaining in lost prop I think and I do suit a sou wester.
Question Author
Good evening, Mamya. Thanks for the tailcocks and nibbles.
I feel my face is best suited to a headscarf...rather like HM...

Good evening, ethandron. Are you of the froggy persuasion ?
i shall raffle a week-end for two away in my caravan, i know how people love caravans so there are sure to be lots of ticket buyers - all that fresh air, back to nature, bucket-and-chuck-it toilet facilites, meandering down country lanes at 20mph, taking ones time.....lovely! sure to be a winner.
errr, no...i don't think so. i do have a pair of flippers and a snorkle - do they count?
oh i see, you make reference to the frenchy vocab!!
no, no, just trying to bring a little je ne sait quoi to the proceedings.
Question Author
Flippers and snorkle would be most acceptable...and possibly necessary on the day of the fete if past experience is to be relied on.
Oh the sound of rain bouncing on the caravan roof, reminds me of my little corrugated lean to I call home here.
Question Author
Je ne sais quoi ?
Well, I don't know.
<<ring ring>> operator? operator? milady I will be a little late, I have only just come in from hedge-clipping and I have to wash my feet before venturing out. I promise a Common English Primer and aforesaid gamp for the non-raffle tonight.
I have made field mushroom pate served with melba toast.
aromatica tomatoes stuffed with camembert and ham hock
jacket baby pots with a creamy chive dip
i know mamy, kind of cosy isn't it? and tripping across to the facilities in the dead of night, fighting your way through the nettles, moths, daddy long legseseseses, truly awsome. takes you back to your roots, although i've stopped bleaching now and go au naturelle (did they close down?).
Question Author
Such delicacies, Mamya you spoil us!

ethandron...I have long wondered about au naturelle...haven't seen them for ages.

Catch you later boxtops when your feet are dry.
maybe they went to same way as ethel austin, down a one way street.
may i be so bold as to ask boxtops a question? how did you get your name?

Question Author
Alexanderd, an early call from you! Most welcome as always.
Thank you so much for the spanner....I'm sure it will be highly sought after, especially by the nuts.
For tonights lucky dip thingy have brought a
half tin of crawfords biccies.
dozen dolly pegs
3 bars of lifebuoy soap
