I Strix, the equestrienne’s lesser-half, seem to have been, with two of the link words, Lady (God forbid) Bountiful.

Within seconds of posting my words hordes of you, like pillaging Vikings, came thundering ashore to collar me and claim maximum points. And even after the two minute rule came into play so the late arrivals gleaned armfuls of single points.

So the scoreboard is going to have more names than most village telephone directories!

Well, my chosen words were:

THUNDER bolt
DONKEY cart
BRANdish
COLLAR stud

And, Heaven’s above, didn’t you all come thundering in desperate to collar me!

12 of you with Thunder and a skinny neck-sizeD 13 with Collar but I doff my hat to both mirandasmum for picking Donkey Cart and Ulysses110 for picking Brandish particularly Slaney getting BOTH Donkey Cart and Brandish. I had thought of putting JAUNTING for the Car(t) but only the Irish would probably have got that!

BUT who to name as HOT-SHOT of the week?

I could have named any of the three leaders but NO it has to be SLANEY for picking both of the tough ones.

Praise be to the Lord and let Hosannas be sung.

See you all, hopefully, in a week’s time when I intend to be a lot tougher. Can’t have you lot getting above your station!!
Have a good week,
Strix

p.s. Any errors in my scoring please let me know – I was offered/sent a terrifying Excel sheet (a program I have never had to use) to sort out the scores but took fright and it has all been worked out longhand!
Thanks Strix. The long train journey yesterday that gave me loads of time to consider possible answers clearly did me no good at all! Well done to all scorers.
"Bountiful"
"Pillaging Vikings"
"Armfuls of ... points"

Not my experience, Strix :-)

Sorry, middlestump it was a maiden over for you (batting that is!).
Am I right in thinking that my entry (posted from away from home) did not arrive? There I was thinking I had scored with Thunder bolt and Collar stud..............Ah well, on to next week!
Well, Elspeth, you're there on my screen at 17.50 with Thunder bolt and Collar stud. Should be worth 2 points of anybody's money. Who have you upset?
Thanks strix glad I managed some points off you
can leave the free fall
Thank you Aquagility for being so observant - I don't think I have upset anyone - maybe some points will appear mysteriously later. I don't mind really...............
Question Author
Elpseth, apologies, mea culpa
The scoreboard (not the one posted here) has been amended accordingly and your points will be there for you to add to next week - hopefully!

Points.......At last......for both of us. Thank you Strix.
Thank you Strix - no apology required.
Strix, I may be "bringing up the rear" but that's higher than my usual position languishing in the Free Fall Club! ;O)

Cheers! (S)
Well nothing this week !!!! I did score a point last week so at least I am not at the very bottom !!! Strix, thanks (I think!!!) for your choice of words and congrats Slaney....hot shot of the week
Elspeth, the rejected Excel Spreadsheet clearly shows you with 2 hits and 2 points.

Crofter will make the necessary adjustments next week.
Indeed, I see Strix has already done so.
Olé - points!
Thanks strix - I'm not even going to mention that they seem to be invisible at the moment!
The discredited spreadsheet shows you earned 3 points this weekend Slaney :-)
Now that my computer has been clearesd of the 'virus' by my son and I am one year older, i notice that the answer supplied by CliffyG on my behalf got him one point. it must have been the picture of Jess that put the scorer off. I look forward to seeing a correction in due course. Thunder (Bolt) was the nickname at work of my ex-wife, so I had to go with it.
