Good Evening and Welcome to all our members and to any other waifs and strays that care to grace our clubhouse.
It is a miserable night out, as the poet says:
No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease,
No comfortable feel in any member--
No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,
No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds,
November!
But we shall be warm and cosy inside with our drinks and nibbles .
Any members wishing to volunteer to give tonight's talk should make themselves known.
Prudentia has not been reading her Telegraph - Chards are out and naff - dry sherries are the in........and apparently you get more value from the bottle this Scrooge-ian Christmas.
that sounds interesting Anne, we'll have to hide the cheese! the useless wizard forgot his wand ,used a large twiglet instead, all to no avail, mores the pity!
dr b a talk is a talk we will listen to the wisdom your advanced years have imparted to you.
dtcfn I am sure Pru will choose her own tipple, do have a drink, are you old enough??
i may be over 50 in years but under 5 mentally,if I get to go walk about, hope to find a aboriginal spirit guide to correct matters.must go start some packing me thinks.I'll try to smuggle back a few firemen,so long as they don't run up theeir ladders too fast
Are you going on hols, petal ? If so, have a good time and thank you for your good wishes....tell the wizard to drop in if you see him again...as Drb hasn't shown up for his talk we could do with a replacement speaker.
Hello all, just popping in to say hello, might not be here long.
Things are stranger than usual, but I have mustered up, some mince pies (left over from last year)
and a Scooby Doo pooper scooper for the raffle. Mi'lady's poetry has depressed me.
I shall take comfort in a tailcock.
