Sorry to hear you aren't carrying on squarebear, although I completely understand your reasons. Pity though as I was looking forward to the challenge again with whoever my team mates would have been.

Could you not advertise it Mon, Tues Wed on AB then give people a practise run with a couple of dummy questions on Thursday so they could figure out how to communicate with their team members and post answers?
A lot of work for you , I know. But it is such fun.

Good idea, ladya - it's not so much the getting to the Snooty Fox, it seems to be finding the right chat line once the doors are open! There was a lot of interest for the very first one, this would be number 4 - I suspect we need more publicity!

Sunday morning call - for those who didn't see this conversation last night!

Not harass, butch, no. We didn't know until last night that SB was even thinking of not doing it on Friday, we'd put the agreed date in the diary nearly a month ago. Point taken, though.

Although I'm disappointed too I think SB's point is that only 2 regular teams join in and to the large part they are the people who have answered on this thread. There is a always a lot of pre-advertising but people put their name down or show interest and then don't materialise on the night. I've been in all 3 and have been with different people most of the time and I don't recall having all 4 members there even then.
Controversially I also think the time should be shorter not longer to make it more pressurised. 3 hours is quite a while to expect us to dedicate to nothing else.

I'd agreed for the last time when it was Sunday, I couldn' cope with staying up any later! But it's only 2 hours' work, not 3? - 9-11pm, then a few minutes wait while SB sorts out the answers.

I thought as I was typing the 3 that I should explain but it was getting a bit long. The quiz is 2 hours but the results understandably took another 20 mins or so and then the subsequent chat which is all part of the fun.
That Sunday I couldn't sleep until about 1 and I was useless at work Monday!

Thanks again for your support. Each of these quizzes takes me about a week to set up and it is disappointing to see that only 2 teams regularly take part, with the majority of people who say they will join in either not turning up or not being able to figure out what to do.

I will probably do a Christmas one on the 2nd or 3rd week in December but sorry, there will be no quiz this month from me.
