FAO Squarebear: AB Quiz

Evening sb - are you still planning the next Quiz for next friday night, please? (Need to plan the social events round staying in, if so!)

Probably not. We only get two regular teams and a lot of people who say they will take part never turn up or can't figure out how it works. I get loads of messages from people who just don't get it, which is strange as I can't see how I can make it any easier to follow.

I might do one for Christmas though.

That's a shame SB although I do understand. I have always wanted to be in a permanent team but failed.

I was looking forward to it, squarebear....but it is an awful lot of work for you if people don't take part.

Oh dear, quite a highlight on my calendar too, shame though I do understand all the effort you put in, so is your decision ultimately.

I have to hold my hands up to being one of the ones who gives up cos it's too confusing on that other site. But I usually know the answers lol

Thanks guys. Glad you enjoy them but every month it's, "where are the questions?" or "how do I confer?" or teams just not bothering. Last month one team only answered one question before giving up, which is pretty annoying when I spend a week or so planning, writing and setting up the quiz.

As I say though, I'll probably do one for Christmas.

Oh, that's a shame - do you think if you started to advertise it now, you might get some firm takers? I think some people were distracted by the day change last month, keeping it to Fridays seems most popular (certainly with the A-Team, if I may speak for my co-conspirators!)
It's not difficult to operate, IMO, once you get the hang of where to go.
Trouble is with Christmas, parties and stuff will get in the way..... (last Friday in Dec is New Year's Eve, I can't do that, we're having a party!)

If I could type up the answers and then just paste them somewhere it would be easier, thouh that wouldn;t be a team thing would it?

Dotty, surely you could be a team of one - and yes that's what we do, we work 'em out between us, then you type up the answers in the Answers bit of the Trivia site, so SB can see them and mark them.

I can understand that as unlike this site you have to continually refresh to see if anyone's posted but you get used to it.

This is what I was meaning. No disrespect meant but some people just can't figure it out at all. You click on one link for the questions then type the answers out on the message board. Your team mates do the same then you post messages to each other as we are doing here until you ave a final set of answers, which I then mark.

As long as you all sign in to the correct bit of the site - which is OK once you see where other people are signed in, and the site does tell you - then you can "speak" to the others. It's clever, but yes, you do have to refresh, it's not instant messenging.
