The Club is now Open.
Good evening and welcome everyone.
How pleasant it is to be back in one's own home after the recent flurry of social activity.
I do hope all went well in our absence ?
The recycling bin did seem a tad full this week, but I expect all that glass came from the Home next door. They are rather an unruly lot there.
I believe that there is a Rollover Raffle tonight, so buy your tickets often and early.
Unfortunately tonight's speaker , the well known clairvoyant Miss T Ickmeg, has had to cancel due to a mouldy ball. If any members have 'the gift' , could they please make their way to the upper lesser hall where we will be happy to receive them.

If I like it I shall buy the other books in the series. All at reduced rates of course. It really hurts to pay full price for things.
No good expecting good coffee from me ladyalex. I can tell you that without benefit of Miss T Ickmeg. I make a good cup of tea though when all the other drinks are gone

LadyA I dont know if you do read very much but another reccommendation is the series by Diana Gabaldon about a nurse who returns from the war and visits some standing stones up near Inverness. Magically she is transported back to the time of Bonnie Prince Charlie. Fascinating stuff and the Scots connection may appeal. Now where are those tailcocks I am so thirsty after all this reading
Oh Milady not in a hough! How awful! Either something to do with pawning things or hamstringing cattle! Thought that cow looked a bit upset as I came through the home pasture. You've not pawned the cow! And I thoght ham came from pigs. No. tying them up is not a good idea. Let them free to forage for truffles. Think what an income you could earn. Even enough to put the heating back on.
I tend only to read when I'm on holiday, Alex....too taken up with all this t'internet stuff otherwise.
Enjoy crime stuff most. Jeffery Deaver (real page-turners) and Lindsey Davis (Ancient Roman Detective Marcus Didius Falco) are my favourites at the moment. Used to enjoy Patricia Cornwell until she got a bit samey and boring, same with Kathy Reichs.

I think you may have hte germ of an idea there, Daisy. Alexanderd...how are your pig-training skills ? Will that collie of yours take to being a truffle-hound ?
There's money to be made here, get cracking.
I've got teh jug now, Miss Meg. It's very heavy. I'm trying to shake it.
Thuddddddddddddd. It's fallen out of the window. Smashed to smithereens. Cannot see what was in it as it's too dark .

Enjoyed the Diana Gabaldon books. Not read the latest one though.
May I investigate the brochs? Thought they were rather later in time.
Do excuse me if I do not drink the tea. Hate the taste of it.
(Have we managed to divert her for the time being? Sad to think of all that bubbly not being drunk. Does it ever go off?)
