EATING FRUIT

This is informative!

We all think eating fruit means just buying fruit, cutting it up and popping it into our mouths. It's not that easy. It's important to know how and when to eat fruit.

What's the correct way to eat fruit?

IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUIT AFTER A MEAL! FRUIT SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

Eating fruit like that plays a major role in detoxifying your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD.

Let's say you eat two slices of bread, then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it's prevented from doing so.

In the meantime, the whole meal rots and ferments, and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach, and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.

Eat your fruit on an empty stomach, or before your meal! You've heard people complain: Every time I eat melon I burp, when I eat pears my stomach bloats, when I eat a banana I feel like running to the toilet, etc. This will not happen if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. Fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas. Hence, you bloat!

There's no such thing as some fruits like orange and lemon are acidic, because all fruit becomes alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did research on this matter. If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruit, you have the Secret of Beauty, Longevity, Health, Energy, Happiness and normal weight.

(Don't know how true it is but it makes sense)

I've heard this recently also. It's the lifetime habit of eating fruit after that is hard to change.
Well...I've not had brekkie yet-so maybe it's time for some blueberries first... .;-))
'Secret of beauty'! Right off to get a clementine. In my case, it will need tons of them.
I hate fruit, primarily because it makes me ill :S
I have a suggestion where Dr. Herbert Shelton should insert his bananas before he has his lunch.
i have fruit for brekkie couple of times a week, so that's ok then?
I have always used them as a second course, sweet, or whatever you like to call it. I'm willing to try anything once so next meal (lunch) I will try it out. See if it works!
Why do I suddenly feel like a chimp ?
jj how do you prepare your chimps?
Well for every 'Dr Herbert' there's someone to dispute it...I don't listen to any of these so called food gurus. Eat sensibly and eat what suits your digestion. I'm like cazzz, a lot of fruit upsets me...and on an empty stomach the results would probably be explosive! :o)

Judging by his history, you wouldn't trust Herbert Shelton to open a door for you at a hospital, let alone anything medical.
A lot of fruit upsets me too Robinia!

Actually I rarely fancy fruit on an empty stomach. Except grapes which I could pick at all day quite happily!!
I have GERD and IBS, there is not much I can eat, I have been ill for the last few weeks with constant acid reflux, so much so I am regurgitating food and I can only eat very small amounts of boring safe food. which is most certainly not fruit!!
cazz. Is there something in the air. I have IBS too and have been through a horrible time for the last couple of weeks. It is the first time I have experienced acid reflux to such a degree and for such a long period. I was beginning to think I had an ulcer. But it's calmed down a lot. Been eating bread and honey or bread and marmite instead of proper meals! Seems to have worked.
It has made me feel incredibly ill and very, very tired.
funny enough I have turned to bread primarily as a meal because it was the one food that wouldnt make me pay later ;)

I know exactly how you feel, it knocks your tastebuds about as well, I have hardly eaten this week, its knocked the stuffing out of me.
Agree about the taste bud thing too. I couldn't face a cup of coffee and even tea (which I love) tasted foul. The belching is quietening down now. It was quite horrific. I spent most of the weekend asleep!! I find sleep and rest one of the best cures for IBS.
sorry, but in what way does this make any sense at all????????
I had a fruit salad this morning and I need to have my fix of fruit several time a week otherwise I crave it. I suffer with gastric problem related to heavy food with lots of oil. Every time I have fish and chips or pizza (from delivery, not shop bought) I pay for it for a couple of days and it makes me feel sluggish and very bloated.

I have no problem with fruit.
A load of bilberries....

I eat fruit on and off all day...sure ain't made me beautiful or a normal weight... food doesn't turn to acid it is broken down by stomach acid which is hardly the same thing and for most of us a normal process.... the acid is neutralised by bile once it reaches the duodenum.... certainly doesn't hang around long enough in the stomach to ferment unlss you have an obstruction. if you did you'd be too ill to eat fruit anyway...
Not sure where all these so called experts get their information from Jemisa, makes no sense to me with all due repect. I eat Fruit on a full or empty stomach as I have always done and not had any problems with that.
