If London get a bad spike then yes it may need to be isolated....nothing new there. I'd purely LOVE to know how the NHS are going to produce personalised profiles for ever 50 and over YO. Yes it might be good to start to include some 50YO in those ADVISED to shield if they have serious co morbidities but I think there is already advice about this. There is nothing new there.
I have done everything according to 'the rules’ so far.
Waited for all the deadlines to expire, worn a mask etc.
This I would not follow if it came to pass, enough is enough. Common sense will be what I choose.
Please try not to despair Pasta. If you and your daughter are sensible there is no reason to stay apart any longer.
If long distance travel is involved I would take sandwiches, a flask and a bucket and park on the furthest spot in the services.

danny, my Gp record is pretty much empty apart from allergy info and I am well over 50! The last time I saw a GP was 4 maybe 5 years ago now when I had a really bad post viral cough. He was a lovely bloke, looked at my record and said "Oh no! we seem to have lost your notes" he showed me the empty record and I said no that's right.....and I am a big girl! I suspect, from my time in the NHS, that that is not are rare as just me and a few others. People of all ages who should have shielded were (or should have been) contacted by their GP's last time. I am not sure what this mooted personalised asessment will do differently?
Pasta, let's cut out the emotion here. You are over 50 and hence vulnerable although I know nothing of your medical history.
Your daughter could be carrying the virus but asymptomatic amf hence could transmit the virus to you.
Co19 is in no way under control and spikes and a second wave are inevitable.
It is your decision
