I have to confess that I found it by typing the whole thing into google and it took me to a website which explained its origina and the fact that adults find it very hard to solve and children easy because children think more laterally and are not as bogged down with the obvious.

Well, it's factually incorrect on all counts, since it requires the existence of the fictional characters God and the Devil, implies that being rich removes all desires and that the poor are entirely without possessions. Rubbish.
