Hidradenitis Suppuritiva - Abcesses basically
1 Answers
I was diagnosed with HIDRADENITIS SUPPURITIVA in December of last year following 14/15 years of abcesses in groin area, armpit and around breasts. I am 29 and have IBD as well as other illnesses and diseases.
I would urge anyone who has had more than two episodes of skin abcesses (NOT gum abcesses) to ask for referral to a dermatologist. GP's do not know a lot about this disease as it is a relatively uncommon ailment.
Yes I know it is gross but have any other AB's had this or have this problem????

<<<<I would urge anyone who has had more than two episodes of skin abcesses (NOT gum abcesses) to ask for referral to a dermatologist>>>>
Waiting times for skin appointments varies from 6 months to 2 years depending upon which part of the country you live in and if people took your advice as above, then the NHS Dermatology service would completely collapse.
let the GP decide when referral is required.
