which guitar strings

What strings would you suggest for an Ibanez rg 470 ? It is for "clean " playing.
it will all be 50s rock and 60's stuff etc. I used GHS boomers on my black beauty, but they were a little bit thick for the nut, sounded good, but bass strings didn't stand out to well. want this to sound a bit claptonish. The guitar has 2 humbuckers and a single coil. Its secondhand, so don't know what strings are actually on it.

I too have used Ernie Balls for many years, but for the last year, I've been playing Thomastik Power Brights.
They are in a totally different class.

thanks for the input, never heard of the other ones, but I do have a set of ernie ball super slinky, so will try them first.what sort of tone do the tomastik give? is it brighter tone on clean than the ernie ball?

I always use Ernie Ball Super slinky 9-42 they're not to thick and have a good tone

Yeah, it's slightly brighter and more cleaner.
They also last about 4 times as long as Ernie Balls. I use 9 - 42, but they are slightly harder to bend than Super Slinky.
