On a clear sunny day, the shadows can be blue - lit from the blue sky. Nearby objects can reflect light and so the colour of such objects as a painted wall can affect the colour of the shadow. Lastly, the eye can be fooled by a number of factors and the perceived colour may not be the actual colour of the shadow.
