Pine Cone Feeders

Hi there,
Just before Christmas I bought a few pine cone, bird feeders to add some extra variety to the feeding station, which proved to be very popular

I'm now drying out the empty cones on the radiator to open them up and plan on filling them again with fat and seed etc

I'd like to carry on attracting coal tits if possible

Any ideas what I can put in them would be welcome ?

They are quite keen of the dark sunflower seeds. I've never seen it, but some reckon that they cache the seeds somewhere so don't feed out too many at once.

Once the cones open you could place a drop of honey in each cavity and drop a sunflower seed in it, it all depends on how devoted you are.
