The density of whisky, for example, is not that different from water - so no.
Question Author
do you mean yes?
Liquor contains alcohol, which is 20% or so less dense than water. So you'd sink deeper if you were floating or swimming. Probably like the difference between swimming in sea water, then swimming in fresh water, where the difference in flotation is quite noticeable
However, whiskey is not 100% alcohol, so buoyancy would be maintained by the proportion of water present in the hooch.
Oh that's what Heathfield said!
Yes I did mean yes! Sorry.
Well it was a 50:50 chance :-D
The density of whiskey is about 0.925 so depending on your BMI you will either sink or swim.
What about temperature effects. Whiskey and water could have very different expansion rates especially between zero and four degrees.

Near freezing whiskey would be below zero so it might be more buoyant than room temperature water though clearly not as buoyant as sub zero water ;)
So, whiskey on the rocks may be better for my health than straight whiskey, is that what you are saying Beso?
