yes silver has a hallmark like gold and other precious metal (platinum).
I think you should google hallmark
Basically it should have the place mark, a mark of who made it, and a date mark, (and possibly a few more - purity and duty have been recorded at diffetent times)
But but but - jewellery may not be marked
(but then it cannot lawfully be sold as silver)
