How can you check if you have depression, without your family founding out?I am a teenager as well. I took some tests and the say, I do have depression. I can't talk to any doctors and my friends don't understand. I feel alone and scared, I hate feeling weak and I experience a lot of depression symptoms.Like:I have a lot of mood swings, mostly feeling emptiness, sadness, numbness, hopelessness and more.Sometimes, I wish I was dead and everyone, including the world, would be better of without me.The stuff I used to love, like reading, I don't bother, I feel as if I don't have time.I get tired and annoyed and really angry.I had some strange appetite changes.I practically cry everyday, normally I cry myself to sleep.I feel guilt and worthlessness.Sometimes, I get headaches, I think it's from crying.I have trouble sleeping and find it hard to make decisions. It's trauma and grief and stressful events. I know that myself.

>>>I can't talk to any doctors
Why on earth not, that is what they are there for.
From what you describe you are definitely depressed and a doctor will spot that straight away and get help for you.
This can often be caused by an imbalance of chemicals in the brain which tablets can correct.
GO TO A DOCTOR.
p.s. Although it can be difficult to discuss issues like this I am sure your family would rather know so talk to them as well.

Hi there, I was very to sad to read your story. It really depends on your age as to how you can get advice. Firstly, usually your parents are the people to speak to. Have you tried to speak to them,as I am sure they would be very upset to learn of your distress. I am a mum and I hope my children would come to me first so that they could tell me how they are feeling. I would let them know how precious they are and give them a loving cuddle and listen to what is troubling them. Please try to let them know how you feel. If you feel that you are unable to do this, at least try. Or have you any brothers or sisters who can help Otherwise there would always be someone to help and listen to you at your school and they would know how to give you support. We all sometimes have experienced some kind of strange feelings which we cannot explain and it depends whether you are male or female as this makes a lot of difference to what you are going through and how you are feeling. Please do not think that the world would be a better place without you. Remember your parents / grandparents, brothers or sisters love you very much and would want to help you. I hope are able to talk to someone soon. Best wishes.

However, if you're brave enough to post here then you ARE brave enough to talk to a doctor. You've got nothing to lose by it (and possibly a great deal to gain from it). Go do it!
