Is Vaping Safe?
32 Answers
I've never dealt with my nicotine addiction but stopped smoking using lozenges. I see lots of people using vaping pipes . They must be safer than cigarettes, no tar for example, but could their users be storing up health problems for the future?

It seems safer that what it replaces but ensures a missed change at doing away with the activity altogether, as others grab the business opportunity to make money regardless. Safe or not it's still antisocial, likely to attract young participants, and keeps the action as something society continues to tolerate. But for now, indulge at your own risk.
The vaping mixture I use has 4 ingredients:
Vegetable Glycerin
Flavouring
Nicotine
Water
It's probably about as safe as drinking coffee, and safer than drinking alcohol.
Many people, and most young people use a nicotine-free version.
Having been a 60 per day smoker for around 45 years, and having spent thousands on various (failed) methods of giving up smoking, I switched to vaping last March, and have neither smoked nor wanted to smoke since then.

"Safe or not it's still antisocial,"
It gives off water-vapour, so it's about as anti-social as having a hot drink.
I've never seen anyone fighting, crashing their car, vomiting in the street, or acting lewdly in public as a result of vaping, which is more than I can say for that great social pastime of drinking alcohol.

I have a certain amount of sympathy for the postings and opinion of O_G in respect of it being anti-social.
Let's be clear form the outset, vaping is NOT just water vapour.
Vaping itself is not unsocial it is some of the people that vape that are unsocial, these people tending to "show off" by blowing voluminous amounts of vapour around others who are in close proximity and performing "tricks" patterns with the vapour. This in my mind is anti-social.

The main difficulty with vaping that I can see is that is attractive to children ::::

After all, why would the manufacturers of the liquids make flavours such as bubble gum, Black Jacks, etc, etc ?

Morning Sqad !
If vaping helps people give up the evil weed, then I grudgingly welcome its continuance.
But do anyone remember when drink makers started selling those alcopops a few years ago ? You know, the alcoholic Tizer ?
I see an awful lot of kids using these plastic vaping things, to and from School.

Ummm....yes you are correct, drinking amongst children is giving cause for concern.
But I was pointing out the cynical nature of the marketing campaign.
It stands to reason that if you want to attract children to buy something new, then a flavour based on kids sweets would be a sure-fire way to do it.
As far as I know, vaping liquids don't come in cabbage or liver flavour !
